About Us

September 9, 2011. Jared picked me up for our date, and we got a good look at each other for the first time. Jared had been given my phone number by his sister-in-law, who was also one of my roommates from three years prior, and who thought we would be a good match. Thankfully my only blind date was a success!

Our first date was to Mimi's cafe for dinner, and it lasted an hour and a half. It included weird accounting jokes by Jared, a rant over a highlighter by me, and an awkward hug at the door. Jared wasn't interested in a second date, but I thought "How can I make a decision after such a short date?", so a few days later I invited Jared to my apartment for lunch. He was impressed by my forwardness - so not like me - and felt like he should invite me over that weekend to make cake. I guess by the end of that date he decided that he liked me because from then on we were together almost every day.

We kissed and became official on October 9, said "I love you" one month after that, and by Christmas we had met each other's families. You know that's when it's serious. Especially when our families live 3,000 miles apart.

Jared proposed on March 17th, 2012 at the end of a very long day together, and with a ring he had picked up at K-Mart! We had a ring designed and made a few months later and I haven't put that fake one on since.

We tied the knot on August 11, 2012 in San Diego, and headed back to Utah to finish up school. In April of 2013 we graduated from BYU, Jared with his master's degree in Accounting and I with a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education. We now live in Orange County, California where Jared works for a CPA firm and I spend each day with our son, whom we welcomed to the family in October of 2015.We are excited to be where we are and to see what the next few years bring us!
